that just wooped your ass

Talking I did it! I got the 97 GT!

I love it so far. It is a far cry from a 89 Nissan Maxima(which had the looks but not the power. What should I do to it first? I think I am going to get catback and muffler, intake later. What do you Legacy owners think? I am looking for sound first power second.

congrats! first two things i'd do would be to get new rubber and a new rear sway bar. for sound, get the muffler and pull the snorkus in the fender for now. welcome to the family.

Congrats on your new(?) car!! I've had a 97 GT for a couple years now. Loved it, love it, will always love it. Too bad I haven't seen it in about a month. I got rear ended Memorial day weekend and my car was pushed UNDER this 70's Mercedes. Not a pretty sight. Hopefully getting it back this weekend. *crossing my fingers* If it's sound you're looking for, get a 2 1/4 inch catback that gets rid of the resonator and a Rallispec intake. That combination will definitely turn a lot of heads (including the cops).

Default Exhaust etc.

Welcome to the club. Probably have surfed i-Club enough to know this, but a catback exhaust is mostly for sound and looks. It only adds a few horsepower. The snorkusectomy intake mod is free, adds some noise and probably adds a few horsepower. Any of the aftermarket intakes for the Legacy that I am aware of add a bit of high rpm power at the expense of losing some low rpm torque.
