Unhappy Tears!

A deer jumped out in front of me last night and completely bombed the front end of my Scoob. Thankfully, insurance covers the repairs, but I don't think it'll ever be the same...

Share the love guys. *sniff*

Yeah those deer suck. When I lived in Albany, I had this one deer stalking me. I new it was him cuz he always wore the same hat Anyways he never got me. But I hated driving up there at night. They hang out on I-90.

Lucky for you it was just a deer, Up here we have Elk and Moose. When they land on your car you usually don't walk away.

Sorry to hear about that. One of the worse feelings is getting your car damaged. But hey, at least you didn't drive through a house and two fences.

volk, I think he was referring to the pics of the "driver skilz" thread...blue wrx that slammed through the side of a house and a few fences...

P.S. I ran over a rabbit once, but it wasn't my fault

Default Good Luck.

Glad you weren't hurt, how's the deer?

I have seen two deer go through two Impreza's, one was an STi - the hoods are so low that the deer went through the windshield of both cars - both cars were totalled by insurance but they were both cleaned up and sold again by the buyers.

Thanks for the support, guys. The deer got pretty well whooped by the collision. Judging by the smell, his bowels burst from the impact. Uck. I'm not eating that deer.

Yeah, so, the insurance guy comes on Tuesday to assess the damage. I intend to take lots of pictures before he comes in case they decide to...short me. You know, so I can wave them around and say "how's this not broken?" While I doubt it'll happen, this is my baby we're toying with here. Nobody jerks my baby around.

I just got up the nerve to pop the hood and take a look...it's not looking promising. The port timing cover is bent meaning that there's a chance that one of the camshafts got bashed...I'm not looking forward to rebuilding my heads. Man, it's effed up...

Here's some pictures of what the antler-rat did. I'm glad that little mother-effer's dead.

I didn't realize Subaru's were involved in accidents when not drifting.

Glad to see that the damage isn't too bad, Al.

The deer's very dead. It got speared on the port quarterpanel by the headlight. You can see a chunk of it stuck under the panel in the second, fourth and last photos.

I wasn't in Rochester when I hit it; I was (am) in East Amherst, outside of Buffalo, where I go to school (University at Buffalo, in case anyone cares). On North French Road between Dodge and Transit.

If I were in Rochester, (and if the damage is great enough, I'll get it flatbedded back there for free) I'd take it to Vesa's Automotive on University next to the Mobil Station between Blossom and Culver. They do good work and I know the owner. I worked at that gas station for six years and talked many times with him and practically all the techs.
