Subaru Stars Suggestions for ignition

I am doing a rs-t conversion and am wondering what my options are for ignition. I need a good coil but also need a boost timing controller. I was looking at the msd dis-2 and boost timing master but i do not believe these will work. please help. Thanks

I have a DIS-2 on my Legacy Turbo and love it.

Your coil pack has the ignitor integrated, I think, so if you want to use a DIS-2 you need to switch to the older style setup which has a separate ignitor and coil pack. It's easy to do; you just need to source an ignitor and coil pack from an earlier car; the wiring is very straightforward. Three of the wires you'd be adding in would have to be cut for installation of the DIS-2 anyway.

If you're lucky and find a coil pack that has male coil towers like your stock one, that'll be nice. But it'll be easier to find a coil pack with female towers, and if you do you'll want to switch to the coil terminals and boots. If you're buying Magnecor wires (which I would recommend for your application), Magnecor will happily make you the custom wires you need.

If you get one of the new Programmable DIS-2 units (MSD part number 6212) you can program in boost retard, too.

So... yeah. That's what I suggest. An ignitor/coil conversion, Magnecor wires, and a Programmable DIS-2.

Actually ... if you do decide to go this route, PM me. I might be able to get you the wires, ignitor, and coil pack.
