Default WAG/Autoklub Polski Chicago AutoX at TireRack.

http://www.w-a-g.org/events/rallycro...11-21/info.htm

I know, I know it's late notice...

This sunday (12/5/04) at the TireRack in South Bend, IN:

"Combination event... run two courses on the same day!
Paved Autocross and Dirt Rallycross courses!"

Registration is onsite, no pregistration required. For $30 you can run the paved course, the dirt course, or both.

There will be trophies, but the event will be less formal than the SCCA or TSSCC events. Example: timing will be by stopwatch.

I'm heading out from the chicago area early sunday morning, if anybody wants to drive down together.

They had one before that sounded like fun. Unfortunately I don't have anything to really drive this weekend or else I'd do it.

Man, this sounds sweet. I've never even seen the RallyX course at the TireRack.

Too bad I've got hella-homework to do this weekend.

Fixed the link.

The event works as the following. The morning will be a regular, 3-run minimum, autoX on pavement (scca solo2 rules). It might be a little cold for crazy summer tires or R compound, but high performance tires will definitely be an advantage. The afternoon will be a solo2 event, but this time on dirt/mud. This is my first "rallyX" as well, but the way I understand it is that it is just autoX with less traction. It shouldn't pose any danger to the vehicles. Like everybody else, I'm going to inspect the track once I get there to check for rocks and such. If it's too rough, then i might not run in the afternoon. I'm just bringing one set of all seasons to run both on the tarmac and dirt.

I'm fairly new at autoX too and I encourage newbies to come out. The event is fairly informal and I'm sure people will be more than willing to help you out. Loaners helmets WILL be available. If you've never been to an autoX, read this:

http://www.tirerack.com/features/solo2/handbook.htm

EDIT: I'm not sure, but I don't think there's actually a "rallyX course" at tirerack. I have a feeling it's just an open field

Running snows will be better on both surfaces since they're generally softer than all seasons in these weather conditions.

Might make the trek out. I've always got my autoX helmet in the car.

You know, the 90 skyway that becomes a tollroad. I stay on it until exit 59, which is south bend. Does 90 merge with 80?
