Question Online S-AFC instalation guide? (i did a search)

Im finally going to do this and was wondering if there are any online instalation guides? (azscooby, lagging etc?)

i also have 2 other questiond concerning the instal:
1.do i need any other guages to get the most out of the s-afc tuning ( o2 sensor, FPR etc?) im only running an intake and exaust on a 98 OBS

2.once it is installed, can it be set at zero untill i get a good set on numbers and a big chunk of time to test it out so i dont blow up my car?

thanks in advance!

Yeah it's fine to leave the corrections set at zero. I have a A/F gauge, a EGT gauge is helpfull too.

Try my site :
www.geocities.com/matsut_rpi00/safc.html

I gave my SAFC page to www.scoobymods.com , so they have the same exact thing on their site.

No problem dude.

EGT checks the exhaust gas temperature. On our engines, 1400F is the good temp. Anything less means the engine is running rich. Anything higher (around 1600F), the engine is running lean and that's bad.

A/F checks the air fuel ratio of the engine. I have one that attaches to the rear O2 sensor, so it's not so accurate. But, you would somewhat see the general idea of how the engine is running.

EGT is the best way to go to adjust SAFC. It will cost $100 for the gauge, another $100-ish for the temperature probe, and another $100-150 for the installation. Most A/F meter is a narow band (0-1volt) and not accurate and slow. If you get a wide band (0-5volts), then it would be more accurate, but it's expensive.

so basically, without the a/f gage or the EGT, tuning the s-afc corectly is close to imposible? just be able to take other peoples numbers and go from ther i suppose? that dosent seem good. doh! more money...thanks for filling me in on those gages though.

approx. $100 for the probe!?!?!

I just purchased the gauge and now have to spend additional $$ for the probe! I should've gotten the Apexi. A friend of mine purchased the Apexi, granted a little more $$, but it came with ALL the parts...... including the probe.
