Have a stromung and love it. The dual-tip also posted the best HP gains in SportCompactCar. If you want a real ballsey sound, as well as a decent added push, get the borla headers. You can get both at cobbtuning.com. The headers ran me about $475 shipped, and the muffler runs about $350. with the two cats, the intermediate pipe seems a bit pricey, and the muffler alone tested at [email protected] wheels. Wanna play with bigger dogs? Buy the Cobb camshafts. Got a set on order, I'll post sumfin' soon about it.

I installed a 2.25" ID glasspack - call me old school. It cost me $19.95. I'll put it up against any aftermarket muffler. I have a '00 RS. I watched a WRX with a glasspack smokin' the competition at an autocross a few weeks ago. The sound is a low powerful rumble and gurgle in both cars while cruising. It doesn't get too loud at wide open throttle either.
I haven't had any backfire issues like some people have had with the Stromung. But to keep my low-end torque, I added a Turbulator tip that has a butterfly valve that adjusts backpressure with gas speeds and temperature. This may be superfluous but that torque is important in autocross so I didn't want to take the chance.
