I say go subtle - grey, black, or maybe silver. I painted mine grey with Universal Grey engine paint. They look nice behind my BBS RK wheels, but they don't scream 'look at me'. I painted the calipers on my wife's Audi A4 with gloss black engine paint and they look great (she didn't want them to stand out). It all depends what you are into. I just think the red/yellow/blue stock calipers look a little goofy.

Black or grey.
Do you really want to attract unnecessary attention to your brakes unless they are actually performance parts worthy of the attention? |

Yes...black. Red (or blue, or yellow, etc) painted stock calipers screams "Ricer!".

I painted my stock calipers silver. They blend in with everything else and don't draw attention. And on the same hand, they don't look ugly and dirty like they do unpainted.

I'd go with black or silver. I'll draw attention to them later when I swap on some glossy red 6-piston Stoptech's. Right now the caliper is pretty scrawny looking, & black or gray will make it dissappear.

I agree with the subtle approach others have mentioned. Painting stock calipers red, yellow, gold, etc looks gaudy imo.

But what if you have black rims; wouldn't black on black be almost unnoticeable?
