LOL look at the required offset for WRX rims and then ask this question again. deep dish is a no no unless you want to look like one of those cars with tire sticking out on the sides way past the body.

well like for the axis se7en mod rim, they have it where you can have the deep dish and keep the same width of rim and offset.
thats why i ask |

I think rims like Subzeros for example are as deep as you should go. What is that about 1"? Once you clean those edges, they look amazing on a clear sunny day! I voted for deeper dish only on this account.

This gets posted more and more often, and the answer is always the same.....with a +50ish offset, ya 'aint happenin' any 'deep dish' regardless of what you poll accomplishes or pollers wish for.

For some reason, deep dishes look real sexy to me on the STi. I think it's because of the fender flares and bulkyness if the WRX/STi.

Actually, yes, you can! There are a few rims that have a greater than 1.5" lip which fit perfectly on Subaru's. For example, Limix Lineas, a 16 1/2 lb 18" forged wheel with a 2" lip. I had them on my wrx with no problems. The offset is above 50mm.
I am trying to sell them though because they don't fit my STI (brakes,PCD) |

We need a NASIOC definition for "deep dish".

Isn't it better for the front wheels/tires to be wider in the front help turn in? Say like an 8.5 inch in the front and an 8 or even a 7.5 in the rear.

Reason being...given two wheels, one 8" wide, the other 8.5" wide, and the same width tires, say 235. The tire will be stretched more sitting on the 8.5" wheel then on the 8" wheel, resulting in better turn in. If somebody wants to take that and explain further, please do so. I just wanted to clear that up incase anyone was puzzled about how the same width tire on different width wheels could effect anything. -George |
