Default Broke a lug nut stud...question for you all

So I broke one of my lug nut studs on my STi....how easy is it to replace one? Do I need any special tools that the average person might not have?

Thanks guys!!

Fix it and invest in a torque wrench to prevent this from happening again.

I would imagine I broke it from over torquing it to begin with. I do have a torque wrench and I'm not the kind of person to tighten it til my arms hurt. Maybe I just got unlucky...who knows.

I was taking the wheel off and SNAP!

Replace all of them w ARP studs. My buddy owns the Modified Mag STi and he had it happen to at least one stud on each wheel. He thinks it's from either aggressive driving or a shop using an airgun to put his wheels on.

2 bolts for the calliper and its off . pull off the rotor . You will then need to line up the offending stud with a cut out in the hub (easy to see with the wheel off) I usa a 3 pound mini sledge to whack it out . Get a couple of thick washers and some anti seize . Put the new stud in coat the threads in anti seize . Put the rotor back on , then the washers , use a lugnut and some patience to pull the new stud in , should take less than an hour .

Believe him when he said to use a 3 pound mini sledge. Regular hammer won't cut it. One whack with the sledge and it comes right off.

Pull the caliper and rotor off - two bolts to undo caliper from caliper bracket. Then the rotor slides right off.

I used a regular hammer, gave it a couple wacks and it came right off.

Slide the new stud in, put a bunch of washers on, then put the lug nut on and start tightening. The lug nut will press against the washers and pull the stud in. Then you're done. Simple to do - took me about 1/2 hour to do all five on my front passenger side.
