Default 8.5" 5zigen w225/40/18 on my STi

I just got this set-up on my '04 STi, looks like the wheel really hangs over the tire, anyone have a similar set-up
Is there enough tire on these wheels?
Should I have gotten the 235's, I did not get these because of clearence and revolutions per mile didn't match?
Any thoughts

wow.. yea, I'm running on an 8.5" rim as well. should have gone 235/40 at least.. I barely have any rim protection as it is now. The difference in rolling diameter isn't that bad, and 235 clears. That is, depending on who you talk to.. some people will tell you that you can fit a 255 without rubbing, my experience is 235 max w/o rub on those rims

If you dont mind doing minor "reconstruction" of you wheel well, you can fit 315 series tires, trust me its being done as we speak (not my car though ) Yeah you should have gone with 235.

For my WRX i can run a 17x8 +48 offset with a 245 no rubbing, just some food for thought

yeah i just bought a 17"x8.5 wheel setup... and i was recommended on going with the 235s so i did, just because the tire looks way too stretched on the 225's.

I'm planning on the 17x8's with 245's and wouldn't have recommended the 225's on 8.5's but I don't know all about what sizes work and what doesn't. Seems the general thought is 235's... I would have thought 245 and possibly 255's assuming there is no rubbing issues.
