Wheel Choice, Opinions Needed
Ok, so I posted this in the exterior mod thread because I completely spaced on the existence of this thread, duh! Anyways, I'm looking for opionons on my wheel choices. I'm looking into either the prodrive PFF7's or the Rota Formula Mesh in steel gret. I know the Prodrives are just cooler becuase their prodrive but to be honest I'm deciding based on looks. I photochopped some silver PFF7's onto my car, what do you think?

Also....what is your criteria that Volks are better than Prodrives, and Advans are better than Volks? |

BTW, mav1c... my TE-37's actually have Rays Engineering stickers on them.. Not like the prodrives which are made by Rays but do not have any logo on them... and also... the reason why I bought the TE-37's were for the strength and because of how light weight they are. Come on now... Do some research. My criteria for my TE-37 being better is because of how lightweight they are. Also, I never said that VOLKS are better then ADVAN, that was someone else. Like I said.. do your research and learn... |

I like the Formulas better, especially when the cost is considered. Also why not consider the Rota SDR, that is very similar in looks to the PFF7's? Volks at least are very light, Prodrive not so much, so why pay the premium price.

There is a "RAYS ENG" stamped on the inside of the Prodrive GC-06D's. They're forged the same way your TE-37's are. The GC-06D's are very similar to the TE-37's. The 18x7.5 GC-06D weighs 16.5 lbs, so I'd say they're pretty light and strong. Oh...and the "Advans are better than Volks" question was not directed only at you. Just a curiosity. You equate better as being lighter. OK. So please....don't try and school me on "doing my research". Now back to the topic....if these are just daily driver wheels Get the Rotas. I don't think you're showing or tracking the car (although I use Rotas at the track with no problems), just get the Rotas and save yourself a lot of money, and still have a great looking wheel. Based on those pics, I like the Prodrives better. But come on, no gold?
IMHO if you are going to spend the $$ on Prodrives but you are not tracking/showing there are some great wheel options. A set of JDM STi wheels (the split 5-spokes in gold) would look great, IMHO, ditto a set of Emotions (or gold Torques) blk04: you make no sense. john |

I'd like to see the prodrives in the british pewter color. I like the steel grey look.

They've been for sale for a LONG time, but I just recently showed them to a friend with a Legacy GT. He says he wants them, but hasn't actually bought them yet. If you're seriously interested, I'll find out for sure if he's going to buy them, and let you know. Cool?
Oh...and they would look great on your car. They would look great on any car. |

It's a very slight difference. The British Pewter are on the left, Bright Flitter on the right. |

wow, not much of a difference at all, at least in that picture. I always figured they were alot darker, closer to the british black.
I'm definitley going for something 18 inches, but after searching a bit it looks like im going to have to spend alot more to get a set that doesnt weigh a ton. The Rota formulas weigh in at almost 23 pounds! I wont go with anything over 20 pounds. 18-19 pounds would be pretty good. Any suggestions? |
