Default Perhaps my car is different? :(

Completely stock WRX wagon. Recent 4 wheel alignment. Only thing out of standard spec was the front toe (it was "out" a little). Never in any accidents, hit any potholes or curbs. I'm the only driver. No track days; it's my daily driver (and that can have some track moments!).

16"X7.5" SSR Comps, 225X50X16 S-03s. Rear tires rub the fenders on hard cornering with no passengers in the car. This set-up was supposed to clear....and it doesn't.

I just mounted some 17in SSRs w/ S-03s & i know they rub on right hand turns (highway entrance ramps). I know that S-03s are kinda wide, so it's a definate possiblity that they might rub. What offset are your wheels?

Post the numbers.....you may have had smoke blown up your ass by whoever did the alignment.....give us the before and after numbers.
You may need some camber bolts in back to add/remove a little camber.

The offset is 48 mm (vs 55 mm for stock). They are also an inch wider than stock. The rear tires almost rub the strut on the inside (maybe 1/4" space?). All too close for comfort.

Numbers: They didn't give me a print out of before, but I saw them on the screen. Front toe was out almost 1/4". First alignment in 55,000 miles.

Front Camber: -.43 L -.41 R
Caster: 3.41 L 3.33 R
Toe .00 L . 01 R

Rear Camber -1.45 L -1.02 R
Toe .03 L .06 R

...bump. So the two sides are not identical, but within "specs". Did they blow smoke up my ass? I don't think so. Certainly doesn't appear to be the problem. These were supposed to be "plug and play", not "buy camber bolts, wear out the insides of your tires, and roll the fenders."

It is not uncommon for 225s on 48 offset rims to rub on wagons. SO-3s are one of th worst offenders because they are wider than other 225s. If you had wheels in the 50-53 offset range, you might be fine.
If someone told you it would not rub didn't know about the wagons.

That alignment is WAY off.....and 1/4" between the tire and strut is a MILE.

ALL of the alignment is WAY off? What part do you see is WAY off...enough to cause a problem? The rubbing problem? Tire wear problem?

Rear camber should be a LOT closer to being 'even' and you don't have NEAR enough front camber.

It must handle like poo....

Didn't know that less than 1/2 degree was soooo important.

and you don't have NEAR enough front camber.

Not NEAR enough for WHAT? Remember, daily driver, 90% freeway, 25,000 miles a year. No track time, only track "moments".

No complaints about handling...just tire rub now.

If someone told you it would not rub didn't know about the wagons.

Well, when I called the vendor and told them of the rubbing problem, they didn't say anything about ALIGNMENT and such. They said, "That doesn't suprise me." Gee, thanks. Sell me something (just to sell me something?) that doesn't suprise them it rubs? Perhaps assuming I wouldn't mind doing some body work as well? Customer service said I needed to install a smaller tire; 205/55/16. I might as well keep the stock rims then, even though they are heavier...and not so good looking. The site does not say that 225/50/16 is a "recommended fit". I was lead to believe that it was by the sales rep. My reason for going to wider rims was to be able to properly fit a wider tire. Even though a 205/55/16 will "fit" the 7.5" wide rim, I feel the rim is too wide (as the 6.5" is too narrow to properly support the 225/50/16). I wasn't looking for bling. I agree that something closer to +53 mm "might" fix the problem....or just put the problem on the inside! I guess I didn't do enough homework.....checking ALL wheel options and ALL vendors. AND.....my car is NOT different!! It is a wagon, however.

many people who have 225 width tires on a wagon have to roll their rear fenders. Considering rear camber is not adjustable, your alignment isn't bad for an everyday driver. Well within 'factory' specs, but not very good for hard driving.
