Default Wider is better?

Im a new guy so if you talked about this before let me know. Here goes:
I know that the new WRX is physically wider than my RS, but other than the body, what on the suspension is acually wider also? Is it the crossmembers that are wider with the suspension arms the same length as the RS or is it the other way around or both? The reason im asking is because if the a-arms are the same length as the RS one from ball joint to crossmember I can get a set of the aluminum WRX a-arms from the japan spec car for about $300 a set of two!!!! Is that wild or what! I want to see if it is going to fit/bolt on with none or as little modifications as possible. Then again I should just buy them anyway, I mean $300 bucks are you crazy!?! Please post your thoughts.-Poo.
