Default Battery Recharge??

I'm curious as to how long it would take the stock alt on a 02 WRX to charge a completely drained Optima yellow top. I'm thinking of running my stereo(or parts of it) off a separate deep cycle battery then recharging it when it has completely drained using some kind of isolator switch. Second question would be how long would the optima last on a 1300 watt RMS system??(obviously there are variables here but assuming the volume is relatively high)

If it's completely drained you need to remove it from the car and hook it up to an external charger. It would take a long time to fully recharge it just driving around.
No way to tell for sure how long it will run your system, since the current draw is dynamic. You can take an educated guess based on the reserve rating of the battery and the combined nominal current ratings of your equipment. It would also be a good idea to have a voltmeter hooked up so you can tell when the battery is drained and shut things down.
The stock alternator does not have enough capacity to run two batteries even with an isolator.
