Default Changing fluids... What should I use?

I have a 2005 Legacy 2.5 GT and I'm getting ready to change my engine, transmission and differential fluids what should I replace the stock fluids with? I have been told by some to use synthetic fluids and others have told me not to use synthetic fluids. Need suggestions.

Engine - ?

Transmission - ?

Differential - ?

Thanks for the help guys

You will be told to search. Start in the appropriate forums. I say that not to be a jerk, but just so you get the full benefit of all of the information on here. Myself, I've had great luck with Super Tech synthetic 75w140 in the trans, can be found at Wal-Mart. But then, that's just me, and many people here swear by exotic fluids.

With an 05, it's way too soon to have to change the trans and diff fluids. You can if you want, but probably best to leave well enough alone. For now, follow the recommendations in your owners manual for fluid types and change intervals, you can't go wrong that way.
And yes, search the site, there are FAQ threads on oil (in this very forum, up at the top), transmission oils (in the transmission forum), and pretty much anything else you need to know.

engine: Many people here swear by Mobil 1 (synthetic) I'm cheap so I use Castrol GTX (dino)

tranny/diff: Wait until 30k, then go with 75W90 or 80W90 Valvoline or similar dino gear oil (NOT synthetic)
