Default Intake kit for GC8

Hi Guys!

2000 GC8 w/ MAF sensor.

I currently have a K&N performance Filter in my factory box and she definately is working better than the paper filter that came w/ the car. That brand was Blitz.

I currently have the HKS Super AFR controller and would like to take full advantage of my exhaust system by getting more air into the system.

Looking at the specs, it seems that a cone filter performs better than the stock K&N filter.

If there any good systems out there that really works beside Cobb Tunning?

I have not contacted them yet for a setup w/ my MAF and to where the filter would go and how i can protect it from heat soak.

I want to make my hood scoop functional. I have a design in mind ala gravel sport but sealed better. Get a super long airfilter as well like 20"x8". I think that would rule. I have an ABS vaccum former so I figure it's worth the 20 bucks in parts to try it. I doubt it would "Ram" much air but I think it would be cooler.

cheers

I've heard of someone that actually got positive pressure in the manifold by using a "ram air" type intake. I guess you have to worry about rain getting into the filter, but otherwise, that could be a good mod i think.

Well if you have a MAF system that wont take much, these systems are very tempramental to anything, i had to replace mine caus i blew it out with a intake... that sucked, on the way to whistler on highway 101.... that is for another time though, i dont thing any ram air will work, unless you have a MAP sensor... good luck

www.pdm-racing.com

They sell a $50 version of the GanzFlow. I own a PDM. The PDM is basically identical to the 1st-generation Ganz... The Ganz now is shaped differently, in its newer iteration.

Never heard of blowing a MAF, though....

I thought the 2000 has a MAP???

I've got a MAP on my RS (2000), did they change it over that year?

2000 RS = MAP 2000 L = MAF. You have the same MAF set-up as the '99 RS. You can use cobb's intake for the '99. You can also buy an ebay intake, and get better than stock HP with it. You would be surprised: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706723
