Default Sounds akin to cards in bicycle spokes..

On an '01 RS..

Every so often @ 2k RPM WOT, I hear this noise that's something akin to cards in bicycle spokes. Maybe lifter noise, but not quite.. Any opinions?

I went for an extended warranty when I got the car - just in case - came in especially handy when we had the Trans Am; we found out the diff'd been swapped (badly) and was about to blow - warranty covered it.

So if comes to getting down and dirty, that's okay.

Thanks in advance!

I think it's just normal... I believe what you're hearing is the exhaust, its like a pap pap pap pap noise right? Ask someone else to drive your car while you stand outside. The sound is really audible if you keep your stock muffler and have full headerback with a h/f cat or trackpipe.

I think its just the way the stock muffler constricts the flow of the exhaust and it forces the exhaust gases back and forth in the muffler and you're just hearing the resulting sound.

If it isn't this thought, I'm not quite sure.
Before reading your post I thought you may have slotted rotors since mine make a sound much like this only when braking, but alas.. nope!
