Default Fuel pump swap

I have a MY99 RS, and I heard some people swap their fuel pump (eg RX7 TT). I was wondering, why do people do this ? Is there a performance gain ? If so, does the A/F ratio have to be adjusted with a FPR (Fuel pressure regulator) or an AFC (Air fuel computer) ?

Is this only applicable for turboed Impreza RSs ?

Thanks for any info...

If you're running N/A your stock fuel pump should be able to supply enough fuel to your injectors. Others with large injectors or RRFPR's have to run a faster pump to supply enough fuel.

The turbo guys buy this particular pump since:

- it has a high flow ratio compared to the stock pump,
- it pretty cheap compared to an STI pump

There's some modification to be done on the wiring harness but it's rather minor....
