YES!! and no... somewhere around here (on NASIOC) there is a post by unabomber about the moss act, which requires that any company that wants to void or modify your warranty due to aftermarket parts has the burden of proof as far as they must be able to prove that whatever happened (damage etc) was directly caused by the aftermarket part...

i had to get my tranny replaced (still in the shop) on my 05 BT (yeah, i know, it only had 4500 miles too!! ) . the reverse gear completely stripped/broke in half or something, but all the other gears are perfect.
they (the dealer) tried to say that the damage to the tranny was caused by my 3" exh, perrin pulley, and gpmoto sri. i was a little worried when he said he wouldnt fix it under warranty, and then i had him bring in one the soa reps to take a look at it. they said that the mods that i had would not cause the reverse gear to strip out (uhmm.... duh?) it is being fixed right now under warranty.

Sounds about right, trying to weasel out of fixing it. That is one reason I haven't lifted mine yet, it is still under 5/60, and I figure that if something breaks in the powertrain, they will try to weasel out of it. I have put on a cheap cold air intake though. I figure that everyone else does it, and our Mits guys at the shop were putting them on like crazy for awhile, so it shouldn't hurt at all. Mike
