Question Newbie w/ lots of questions

Hey all,

After weeks of scouring these threads I was convinced to buy a Baja ... it arrived two weeks ago and I've loved every mile (600 so far) that I've driven! If you see a black turbo MT baja in LA it's probably mine, as of now I've only seen one other Baja EVER on the road.

Anyway, couple of questions:

1. What is the appropriate way to "break-in" the Baja? I read in the manual that the future life/performance of the vehicle depends greatly on the first 1000 miles... are there any specific do's and don'ts I should be aware of?

2. Maybe this is silly but how do I use the center console electric outlet (12v/120w)? What's the difference between that and the regular cigarette lighter. I thought the outlet would actually be a two pronged outlet. Is there an adapter I should be getting so that I can turn it into a two prong outlet that I can plug my laptop or phone charger into?

3. For owners of the snuglid, how easy is it to remove the whole thing, and in particular, the piece behind the cross-bars? I hear the large cover is easy but the piece behind the cross-bars is a bit hard. Also, now that Subaru seems to be coming out with an actual hard cover accessory, which do people think is better, the Subaru bed cover or the Snuglid?

I can help you with your 3rd question as I have had a snuglid for the better part of a year now. The large back panel does come off easily - just undo two locking knobs and lift off. Best to have two people because it's an awkward load to carry by yourself. The small forward panel should be considered permanent - it's bolted down and it will scratch the paint on install/removal if not done right.

I would keep it under 4,000 rpms for the first 1,000 miles.I warm mine up for a few mins before i take off,and i don't run it hard until it reaches operating temp, then its boost time.I have a A.R.E. topper, but if i had my choice between the 2 i would go with the Subaru hard cover.
