Default Accessport map lists question

A friend of mine has an 03 WRX with an Accessport. None of the maps have been updated. Is there a benefit to the newer maps? Will the newest map contain all the updates from the previous map updates? To get the newest maps to i HAVE to update the interface tool?

There are benefits from the newer maps. On the map download list, look at the map notes, it describes the revision history of each map. The newest map will contain all the changes from all the previous maps (unless the update was fixing a change from a previous map). And yes, you need the map management software to get the latest maps. It's available for free download on the Cobb website:

MapManager Download

Hope this helps.

The recent updates didn't include anything major for the 02-03's. Not a big deal if you update the maps. If you are going to be loading new maps anyway, then go ahead and update the AP and load the new maps. You don't have to unmarry the AP for the 02-03 before you do the upgrade. The 04+ AP needs to be unmarried before you upgrade.

I updated the map manager software but now i get an error saying the accessport, Error unalbe to connect to accessport Reason: Found 04WRX accessport-requires update to 05 WRX programming. So i also need to update the AP itself? Where is the link for that?
