Default Utec or COBB AP

Ive heard that utec can cause detonation and that the COBB AP is much easier to deal with, I have a VF39 turbo, TXS FMIC, Helix DP, HKS UP, Blitz CBE, can COBB make all of these parts work together? Also can anyone on here tune them?

You want to look at the UTEC or the Cobb StreetTUNER. The AP is not going to handle all those mods. Either way, you are looking at buying engine management and getting a good dyno tune. Research the UTEC and StreetTUNER pros and cons.

This is what I've always explained to people.

If you are constantly changing items, have an inquisitive nature, or have the need for several fuel type maps, get the UTEC.

If you are one of those "I just want to drive the car.", have stopped modifying it, or (and here's the big one), drive the car hard in several regions of the US (fuel and altitute changes), get a protuned flash or the street tuner. I'm shying away from ECUTEK in this instance (to be fair), because of the fact that you basically get one map, where with the AP you can have up to 10 that you can switch on the fly.

It's possible to do the last item with a UTEC, but it goes back to wanting to have the hands on approach the UTEC requires.

Are there downloadable maps for the UTEC, like there is for the AP?

Ever want to go beyond COBB's choices? Ever want to make more power with the same mods? Choose UTEC.

I've had both, and whil my UTEC isn't where it could potentially be with a good tune, I've noticed the corss over point is much more pronounced in terms of performance than the AP was. It seemed that the AP was tuned for down low RPM's and low TPSvalues. I have nothing to back this up, but it was something I've always considered.

Perfect post.

You can't even run Cobb stage 2.5 with your mods. I would recommend the UTEC route. Please read this thread to convince you to either go the UTEC route or the XEDE route. Both will make more power than the Cobb AP.

If you need a UTEC, please PM us. We will hook you up with an incredible price
