Default sti air filter

sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot.
i bought the sti air filter and was wondering if you guys could recommend a way to clean it? i took the air nozzle to it and it didnt feel like that did the job. i was expecting the air to flow out the other side blowing out the dirt/dust and junk. can i use the water preasure of a hose or is that a bad thing? any knowledge on this would be appreciated, thanks........ john

My understanding is that you cannot clean the Sti filter - its replacement only.

Its not like a K&N. It is a standard type filter, it just flows more CFM than stock filter. Good upgrade IMHO. You cant clean it, get it wet, or oil it, like a K&N.
