2004 Subaru WRX
cammed,built,35R'd WRSTi

Default WRX to STi swap (no, not that guy)

I know theres another thread on this section with the same topic but I was wondering if I could swap a USDM STi engine (block/heads/pistons/etc..) into my 2004 WRX. Would I need an STi clutch/flywheel? Could I keep my RC engineering 650cc injectors? Would I need to buy fuel rails? Could I just put the STi block with WRX heads? and it will bolt up?

Please let me know as I am REALLY interested in this and have the money in hand. Is it worth it? I know I'd have a lot more torque down low, but would I be able to make the high HP that other STi's are making? Next on the list is a set of RA gears.

How much HP would you estimate that I could make if I swap the STi motor in?

Mod list:

Mitsubishi TD05H-18G
RC Engineering 650cc injectors (on my WRX) would I need fuel rails for these to fit on the STi motor?
Walbro 255lph pump
HKS up pipe
HKS down pipe
HKS catback
HKS ssqv
TurboXS fmic
TurboXS utec
TurboXS shorty intake


PS for those who will suggest to go with another route, I am simply doing this because I'm getting this WHOLE swap done by Subaru for ~500 dollars. COMPLETE ENGINE..

Will I have to get a different throttle body? Isnt the STi throttle by wire or somethign like that? With the new engine I'd have TGV's? (w/e that is) and will I be able to make more power on this engine more reliably than my 2.0?
