Default WRX Owners: What aftermarket clutch are you using??

You read the title. I know there are a few of us out there who would like to know what are the good options out there for aftermarket clutches. I don't need to know what brands there are, I already know that. I want to know how you like the one YOU are using and what YOU don't like about it.

Please don't post about what you have HEARD from a friend's, cousin's, brother's accounts. We want first hand knowledge. Also, please mention whether it came with flywheel or not, ie. OS Giken clutch/flywheel combo. Thank you and post away!!

Mike S.

I don't know, but I need a clutch. Does anyone know how the Blitz twin plate clutch is? My clutch is starting to slip off of a hard take off. I know that it IS GOOD for this weak tranny, but I am getting sick of the smell, and I DO NOT want to get stranded. Advice on the BEST aftermarket clutch is appreciated.

You know my cousin's, girlfriend's brother's, friend's roommate had a Blitz and he loved it. THat was just for you Mike.
No seriously, I have hear it is nice but probably not enough slippage for this car. Try just an STi pressure plate and stock disc. Not TOO expensive and should offer a little better holding power. If you want something exotic, I have the ATS carbon disc for use with Sti pressure plate. Can handle 400ps and not too harsh on tranny.

Default Good Clutch

I believe Cobb is using an ACT clutch. You can get them just about anywhere. He also replaced the flywheel with a lightened chromoly (I think). ACT makes street (300 ft-lbs) and two race (400 ft-lbs) clutches. I will probably install the clutch and flywheel when the clutch goes. I may also install some forged sycros if they are available at that point.
