Question Limiting Revs in 2nd gear @ 4K.

I was at a local Auto-X yesterday at an air strip. The ground had varied concrete slabs and different textures. A small amount of lose rocks and many hard turns. My tires were spinning a lot. I'm giving this info because I'm not sure if it will help out diagnosing my problem.

Anyway, My engine would not allow me to rev over 4K @ WOT. It would suddenly limit me to 4K and I would either have to let off the gas and take it past 4K without WOT or shift into 3rd. Obviosuly this sin't good when most of the course was run in 2nd gear and I couldn't use revs over 4K. Well it continued to do this all day.

Once the Auto-X was over on the way home I decided to see if I could rev over 4K and I could. Everything is currently fine.

My mods are:
UD Pulley
Magnaflow muffler w/ 2.5" piping.

Can anyone help me out? I'm stumped. I have no CEL and to me it seems like it has something to do with hard cornering and acceleration. I had a little under 1/4 tank of gas at the time of the event.

there is your problem right there, fuel starvation.

RS's are prone to it at auto-x esp with that little amount of fuel.

I have to auto-x with a full tank with my turbo rs I even get starvation on hard accelaration.
