What does the 10,000 mile maintenance include?
My dealer is calling me about getting the 10k mile mainenance done, so i am curious what about what is included, and do you think that it is worth whatever they are charging?
Thanks

Why don't you ask him? Or check your owner's manual?

according to my 03 manual the 12k mile service (no 10k for my car) involved tire rotation and oil/filter change.
what is the dealer telling you is neccesary and how much are they trying to charge? |

I looked at the manual and only saw a 12k as well, that is my reason for questioning... Just seeing if anyone else got a call.
Thanks |

I just went in for the 15K maintanence and be careful about what the dealer tells you. On the list they gave me it was a bunch of check this and check that (most of which had nothing about replacing parts in it) then all the way at the end they had another item that said check and inspect car.... at this point I turned to the dealer and said "isnt this what the previouse points are for anyway?" .... 190 bux down the drain because I want some BS dealer papers that said I maintained the vehicle through the dealer (mostly for resale value). But I am really debating if it is worth taking a hit on the car at resale or speding more money for dealer papers.

Yeah, that's what I figured, some BS way for them to make an extra buck. And I am not totally confident in the dealerships garadge. I have yet for them to fix an issue the first time I have taken the car in...

don't ever take your car to the dealerships for basic maintenance work. you save yourself a WHOLE lot of money just by doing it yourself (plus it's fun).
If you take your car in, they'll most likely throw it to the 18 year old kid working the lube rack, and I do not trust guys fresh out of high school with my car. |

dunno the guys at Subaru dealers work on WRX's all the time, you'd think tearing it up during the road test portion would get a little old after awhile, now the dumbass at jiffylube or walmart definately.
