uninstalling and installing spark plugs for the first time
I need some help....this is my friends first subie and he has a 02 wrx, he has modded it, but he needs to chnge his plugs as for they're time is up...and neither of us are familiar with the individual coil packs and plugs setup.....can someone give me instructions so we can get through this install....and also which plug is recomended for the wrx....he's running 2or 3 psi over factory and has a full exhaust boost controller and the upgrade ecu....thanx.

Get some NGK's I like them in my RS. Make sure you gap them first, and don't put them in backwards (in reference to title).

Deebo's right. Check out the thread he posted. I believe there's a list of tools you'll need for the replacement too. Deifinitely get an extension, too. I think the one I used was 6".

Check unabombers manifesto >>> Spark plug FAQs. It discusses in detail the types of plugs and their application. 1 step colder iridium might be a good why to fly based on his mods.

I had to remove the air cleaner box and the windshield wiper liquid tank to get at the cylinders. After that it was pretty easy, it would have been a lot easier if the car was cold as it is kind of a squeeze for your hands. Just take your time and use anti seize on the threads and dielectric on the wiring connections.
