Maple Grove - I cant drive but it was fun
Okay, first off I need to learn how to drive I admit.
But anyways, I ran 5 runs this weekend at Maple Grove, with not so good results. Of course, go figure I ran into a few problems of which were a pain in the rear.
3" turbo back exhaust
The only time I looked it was reading 87 around 3pm
It was pretty humid, but I have no idea what the humiduty was.
My first run of the day (and first ever on a track) was a 14.4x
And my next to last run of the day was a 14.3x
The first run, I was running stock boost levels (14psi) with no nitrious, and a 60ft time of 2.01 which basicly stank, and a reaction time of 1.016 I believe.
The second run, I ran 14psi and sprayed in 3rd gear. I ran a 14.6x with a 60 ft time of 2.02. After that I was all over the place as far as times. No matter what I did I couldnt get much boost at all. My first mistake was changing my boost controller settings up to compensate for the apparent lack of boost. I had checked all my hoses, and all looked good. I practically had my EBC turned the whole way up. Stupid mistake. The second run, was the only run I sprayed on the entire day, because it wasnt working correctly (we'll leave it at that for now, read on as to why)
After staring at my engine bay forever, It became clear what the problem was. My TurboXS BOV was practilly falling off. The screws holding it on to the adapter plate were loose. So I ran over to Mark at his TurboXS stand, and he fixed it and cleaned it for me. He also noticed some "sut"? or the appearance of a burnt fuel on it. I'm looking into exactly what it was but for now, I cant say.
So I put the BOV back on and decided to go run again. This run was the first run for the bracket races. My best time of the day was the 14.4x so I dialed in a 14.21 for shhits and giggles. I had no idea what levels of boost I would be running as I had changed them all around. I knew the low boost setting was still at the stock levels, so turned the high boost down a notch to where I think it should have been. I could only hope when I punched it, it wouldnt be reading 20psi or something. If i did read that, I was just going to swith to low while running.
I had a r/t of .636 which was my best of the day on this run, my 60ft time still stank at a 2.017. But I got lucky, the boost was set at 17 psi and I ran a 14.3. I didnt go over my dial-in, and I actually beat the guy I was running against to the end. He dialed in at 12.51 and ran a 12.55.
The next round, I was against one of our own guys from Dynamic Motorsports in his eclipse gst. He dialed in a 14.99 and ran a 15.02 this run. I however, redlighted (and missed 3rd) my r/t was a .422 haha
Either way, I had alot of fun and got the "first track day" thing out of the way. Kinda sucks it was so hot out, and I had a couple problems with the car. I'll be going down again in October, with a better tuned car, bigger turbo and hopefully I'll learn how to drive a tiny bit better. Also note, many of the higher end cars where running some very good times and there were a couple world records set for mph I think.

Maple Grove was awesome yesterday! I don't know what the temp was between 12:00 and 2:00, but it was scorching in the stands! I was amazed at how good some of the top guys were running(a testament to good tuning). The Bullish Racing Supras were just wicked, as was the Foward Motion Neon. Very good day of racing.
Steve S equaled his RS-T's best time I believe( 13.7xx?) so conrats to him.
Suby, what exhaust do you have? It sounded VERY quiet on the track.

BPM TT- Its got a nice sound, but yeah overall it is quiet. Specially when you have hondas acuras running next to you
As far as the other cars, I thought they ran REAL well considering the heat. Stageing sucked, and they made you put your windows up down there before the water pit. Go figure two times a car broke down in front of me. It must have been 110 inside a running car with the windows up...dolp!
One of our cars blew the motor half way down the track, and still ran a 12.7 He also had the car on the dyno, and had 302hp to the wheels. The only thing he has done really is a turbo and some electronics, stock ECU. He toasted cyl 3 and 4 It was blue with Dynamic Motorsports on it. Another Acura of ours ran a 13.7, which wasnt too bad.
