Default 05 gauge cluster area rattle?

anyone have an MY05 with a rattle near/behind the gauge cluster on grated/rough roads? I'm taking mine to the dealer to have it looked at, but was wondering if there were others...

Oh, yeah. Everything on this rotten car rattles! I just had the cluster area apart to perform some anti-rattle work. A bunch of meduim-density foam in every conceivable area got rid of the cluster rattle. The other thing that buzzes/rattles in that area is the steering column cover - more foam fixed that one too.

If you are at all mechanically inclined, take it apart and fix it yourself. The dealership mechanics tend to scratch things up quite a bit when working on the dash area.

My brand new '05 STi has more rattles already than my '02 WRX had with 100,000km (60,000miles).

Is this common? I was thinking of trading up to an '05 STi from an 03 WRX. I'm also a '01 Jetta owner and I know how annoying rattles are. My '03 Wrx doesn't rattle AT ALL, after 30K miles... unless I turn the radio way up.
