Default I left "Engine Oil cap" open

Yup. For three days, i didn't notice it. After i changed my oil, i just checked the level, and forgot to close it. This is one of my most stupid mistake that i made. shame on me. Here is my question. DO i have to flush them out and put new oil?? (just in case of dust/sand went in) OR it'll be okay to drive another 3K for next oil change?? Thanx

ROFL. Dude. I thought I was the only one to do this. I did the same thing before, except I drove around for a night and caught it the next morning. What suprises me is that I drove in the RAIN that night. Poor engine.

It seems to be running fine now, except it burns some oil.

The next morning after the oil change, I found the cap sitting on my battery. Amazing, but boy did I feel stupid!

I think I just put the cap back on and drove the remaining miles, but an earlier change would be best. for piece of mind.

Kind of a side story, but I left my leatherman sitting on my battery for two weeks. I was extremely surprised when I opened the hood saw it sitting there, because I had driven a back and forth from school a couple of times, 300mi round trip.

at least i'm not alone with that.

I switch to Castrol Syntec from Mobil 1. (5w-30 for both) I used to burn around 1qt during 3.5K mile interval. I drive mostly conservatively and just pushes hard once a while. hopefully, castrol syntec will be thick enough, so it won't burn as much.
