Default HANKOOK VENTUS R-S2 Z212 VS AZenis RT-215

I've been reading the threads about all these tires, and I think I'm leaning towards the Hankooks. I'm thinking the Azenis's won't be great for wet weather conditions and also tread life.

Should I do it?

Ruled out because of budget:

Kumho MX
Toyo T1-R
Azenis RT-615

The RT-215's are getting hard to find since they've been discontinued.

I've driven an STi with them and I currently have the Hankooks on my car. I personally prefer the Hankooks but haven't had to deal with wet roads yet

I've had the 215's on my car for a little over a year. 13000 miles and they still have more than half of the tread. I don't track the car at all so that may be why they aren't gone yet. They are a bit on the noisy side in case that is a concern. As far as in the wet, I haven't had any problems yet, and it pours here in new orleans. ( I have taken great care when driving through standing water, as this is supposed to be that tires weak point) but on damp roads, it works just fine

Both are great tires. The biggest difference (from what I've read) is the turn in. The RT-215 are known for their crisp turn in: you move the wheel a little and the car darts in the new direction immediately. The Hankooks have a relatively sloppy turn in feel: you turn the wheel, and the car is (relatively) slow to respond. Right now I've got the Hankooks, and I love them. Although the turn in may not be very crisp, the total lateral grip is just as good as that of the RT-215s. My 235/40/17 Hankooks definitely have more lateral grip than my 245/40/17 Ecsta MXs did. An amazing tire for the price.
