Default CEL question

Okay...I searched for these CEL numbers and couldn't find them on NASIOC. I'm an idiot, I know.

So, my 2001 Impreza RS 2.5 has had the CEL on for about 2 months. I finally got it checked at Advance Auto. The numbers that came up were PO130 (O-2 Sensor circuit Malfunction, Bank 1 Sensor 1) and P1133 (Fuel Air Metering).

My questions: 1) Did the fact that my hubby put in a K&N air filter possibly have caused either problem? I hope not--car runs great with it. 2) Would the second problem go away with a new fuel filter? 3) Are these eventually going to cause the car to break down or is it just something that'll come up when we have to pass emissions testing?

I apologize for my ignorance. Help me?!

Er... well no one else is chiming in so...

Both appear to be *front* O2 sensor codes - so *not* just emissions related (the front sensor controls the closed loop AFR - the rear is the ignorable one). I'd get it checked out if I were you - could be the sensor going bad - in which case the ECU is eventually going to put you in limp mode (or worse).

Wouldn't have thought it's related to either the fuel filter or the K&N - but I'm no expert.
