Default Problem with battery: water is bubbling up through the little screw caps

I am having A problem with my factory battery for my 2003 Subaruwrx.
I am having problems starting my car. The car turns but it takes like 30 sec
for to crank up. Also after it is cranked i ckecked the battery and water is
bubbling up through the little screw caps that you put the water in to refill it.
What is the problem: battery or Alternator?

Take it to the dealer and don't mess with it too much. IF it is a factory battery, it is covered under warranty for 3 years, 36,ooo miles and it is not pro rated. They replace it for free

The battery could be toast, and probably is. If one or two of the cells has died or if it is getting to much electron flow into the remaining cells this will happen. It is doubtful that your alternator has inadvertently increased in effeiciency, so, a battery. I would do a voltage output test on the alternator as well, just for fun, cause maybe it has gotten more effiecient. And be careful, there is Hydrogen gas coming out of your battery at this point as the electrolyte breaks down into the gas. Hydrogen gas likes very much to react with oxygen and blow up, so don't light any cigs around your car or try and look in the holes which you have lit up with your blowtorch!

check the voltage across the battery while the car is running - your alternator may have been overcharging the battery (in which case it'll kill the new one, too)
