Question Big wings and other assorted stuff...

I'm just curious... and I'll probably get flamed out the ass for it, but why is it considered "ricey" for other cars to have gigantic non-stock rear spoilers, but it's ok for a Subie? I mean, a lot of folks on this board say subies are superior to the vinyl wagons with the bumblebee tips, but to me it just seems like hypocrisy when those folks in turn slap on the crazy double decker wings cause it makes their car look rallyish...

all done! flame away.

hey Kagato, here i am!

well, these "wings" are NOT ricey becuz they do serve an actual function and its been proven on the rally car and on Japan's WRXs as well! These spoilers are designed with a lot of research and testing done to them. Most ricers have spoilers that have no function what so ever! their spoilers are first of all stupid looking. if they had a cleaner looking spoiler like the ver5/6 spoilers, i don't mind them. But most of those ppl pick stupid looking wings that flare out the sides of their cars and actually hurt the aerodynamics and screw up the downforce of their cars.

Yes, people do this to make their cars look like the Rally machines. But those exact spoilers are on those rally machines because they serve a special purpose that can also be used on the road, race track, any auto-X, and even on.....a RALLY race!

just my $.02CDN.
