Default Pirelli PZero Nero M+S - New Tire Report

Just got a set of Pirelli PZero Nero M+S tires installed this past week to replace the Dunlop SP5000's I had (for 34K mi!). So far I can report that they have very good summer traction for everyday driving, however as other's have reported, they are prone to following the grooves on the highway (a bit alarming at first). I am heading to the mountains this next weekend and will try them out on the twisty mountain roads (tarmac and dirt) of the Sierras. Will report more...

Anyone else have any comments on the comparrison between the Dunlops and the Pirellis?

Yes. I replaced a set of SP5000's with the Pirellis a while back, and I have about 10K on them now. I like them better than the Dunlops- better feel/response, quieter, and they were better in the snow (at least the light snow I drove them in). I haven't noticed a greater tendency to follow grooves, to me that seems about the same.
FYI both were/are 225/50/16 on 16x7 wheels, stock suspension.

They're great tires. I've run them since January, and they've been up to the challenge in every possible weather condition. Plus, they're fun - the most fun I've ever had on all-season tires. Wear looks good as well. If I auto-x'd more often, I would want a second set of rims and some summer tires, but for the street, they're perfect. Anyway, if you are exceeding the limits of the Pzero M+S's on the street, IMO you need to get your butt to the track before you hurt someone.

I just got a set for my car. I'll be putting them on my car sometime later this month depending on if there's dirt roads in an upcoming road rally... (azenis sports don't like dirt...)
