Default $100 MBNA certificates

Anybody spend theirs yet? Just wondering what happens if you want to buy something that's less than $100... Subaru credit for the change...? cash money...? a pat on the back...?

A kick in the shorts.

If you change your own oil, request the change in oil filters & crush rings.

Does the certificate come with the car? I didn't notice anything like that. I guess I have to go back and check it.

You didn't notice the $100 bills in the glove compartment when you bought the car?

Oh...I mean... what $100 bills?

Just kidding, these are the certificates you get if you sign up for the MBNA Subaru credit card. They pay you in $100 increments...

You should be able to apply at www.mbna.com if you want. You get %3 of the junk you buy toward Subaru goodies.

Did Subaru (or MBNA) mail you an application for this card? Or did you just apply online?

Thanks.

I also applied online. You can follow links from subaru.com or dig and find it on mbna.com.

They aren't generous about limit increases so you've gotta bug them every few months or whatever. And get the platinum card if you can. The added benefits are worth the price. Oh wait. It's free.

Heh. I think I lost my first one, spent the second on a diff protector and floor mats. Buying parts from the dealer sucks, I got ripped off. They give me a 10% discount since I bought my car from them, but it still came out to $150 with tax, etc. Would have been around $100 plus shipping from subaruparts.com. Oh well.

Not sure what happens if you buy something less than $100. They obviously knew about them when I went in.

I was under the impression that you could use these certificates at SubaruParts.com...? No?

Anyway, I need to get me some rubber floormats too... hmm...

I've already spent couple of them for the repair/serivce from my dealer (my dealer charge reasonable price for services). I still have a $2000 coupon in hand. If they release STi next year, that will be a good time to use it.

You can use them at subaruparts.com (but you'd be a fool) and subaruparts.homestead.com/subaruparts.html (you'd be smart) for Subaru OEM stuff. Not STi stuff, not Prodrive stuff, not Eibach, etc. So you could get the steel skid plate, oil filters, fenders, bumpers, windshield wipers, SPT exhaust, WRX V5 struts, etc.
And if your order is under $100 you don't get the change. So your best bet is to order more than $100 and pay the difference.
