Windows Media Player Loads When Computer Starts *Make it Stop*
Every time I start my computer Media Player loads; so startup takes for ever. How do I make it stop?
* Registered users of the site do not see these ads.

running XP?
Run 'msconfig' for the start>run menu and remove it from the startup list. |

or go into the options menu of WMP and undo the option that "starts player when windows is started"

the way to go is definitely msconfig - it shows several items that are not displayed in the startup menu folder

There is also a cool little ap called "startup cpl" that gives you a lot more options. It's useful for those annoying programs, like Quicktime, that simply refuse to make it easy on you.
