FYI: Cleaned MAF, car runs smoother
[I also took out the cat and put the straight pipe back in, cat was not clogged]
Symptoms i was having:
~300 miles after putting NGK one step colder plugs...
hesitation when lightly or moderately accelerating in 3rd and/or 4th
Stumbling at idle, (can see it on the vaccuum/boost gauge, but very little on the rpm gauge)
I did what someone else suggested...took the MAF off and put it in a zip lock with about 1/3 cup of rubbing alcohol...and shook it vigerously. I did notice some particles in the alcohol afterwards.
Then i carefully took a Q tip dipped in alcohol and cleaned the sensor wire on the front side. Also cleaned up in the hole leading to it. It was pretty grimey!
After this, the car ran really well and was very smooth!!
The car does smell richer than before though...
