Subaru Banner 48hrs of Tristate Jan 2006

Just wanted to get thoughts, ideas, etc on this year's 48hrs of Tri-state. Thinking of doing this event in a more traditional 48hrs of Tri-state fashion this year. Depart Friday evening around 7pm and return back Sunday night around 8pm. With the new regulations on travelling to Canada looks like we'll be bypassing that one. So thinking we may try to hookup with the Subaru Dealer in Pittsburgh who was reall cordial to us during the first 2 48hrs of Tri-state. Thoughts, Ideas, help is welcome! Also perhaps we should donate the money to Katrina victims?

I am in either way.

I think doing a fri. evening-sunday would be more interesting. But if more people want the more relaxed drive that is ok too.

Not sure if i'm gonna be driving this year or riding along. Leaning towards riding along.

Cool Cool. Thinking of doing a kickoff somewhere around Nyack heading up to Albany, then down toward Binghampton, across route 17 toward pittsburgh then to philly and back to the NNJ area for Sunday night.

I'm in. Maybe even do the whole ride for once.

Any idea on a tentative date?

woa.. pushing it back a few weeks now too.

i was actually gonna put up a post soon asking if we wanted to start planning for htis event ...then just happened to see this one.

the 2 day thing would be cool.. but it will definatly require co-drivers for each car.

i think Philly should be the start...that way i dont have to travel anywhere to get there. nevermind

the Pittsburgh idea sounds cool... it will be anew run for me this year. not that i have anything against going up to Canada, but i guess they dont like overnight visitors?...?

so far im down for it, but am interested in seeing how it develops more.

[straight faced]Well is there a link where I can get more information to be schooled about what type of event I should expect this to be? Maybe prior years and such? I find NASIOC posts so brief and uninformative.[/straight faced]

I'm down, maybe I should actually get all seasons or something this year. Plus keeping it in January would have a benefit for all the college kids(myself included) who want to participate, as they'll be home on break at the time.

For anyone that wants some backround on this drive here is a webpage I made from the 05 drive. I have an 04 webpage too...can't find it.

www.myrandomtravels.com/48hrs05

Correction on the map at the top: We did not end in Wood-Ridge, forget where it ends, but it was not that far north in NJ.

Also the page was made for those at my work that had donated last year, so it was typed to explaine the trip to them.....non nasioc.com members.

Tensen always get THE best pics... i vote that he jumps from car to car for the trip, to get better photo's of all teh cars and sights.

DONT let him drive, he may not stop and then wont get pics. like the one of the car upside down
