Default Water Leak From Top of EA82 (89 gl sedan)

First, Let me apologize for the frequency of posts on my part concerning the same problem, but I simply don't know what the hell else to do.

So the water pump is back in, everything looks great and its all sealed up. So I fill the radiator and start it up. It runs better than ever, and at first it seems like everything is a-ok.

BUT (enter murphy's demonic head)

about a minute after the engine was started a green drip started coming down from the middle of the engine, not the front as previous w/ the water pump problem.

Upon further investigation, it appears to have been coming from the top of the engine somewhere, because there is a slight splatter pattern all around the ac pump, power steering pump, fuel injector area. There is also radiator fluid puddling up in the valleys on top of the engine, but only towards the rear of the engine (tranny side)...

Any suggestions where this might be coming from? I pulled out the PS pump and bracket to get a better view of the area, and there are no visible cracks or holes.

I cleaned off the top of the engine (everything reachable, that is) with shop rags so that there is no oil or radiator fluid left on the engine, and my plan is to get a slightly smaller belt to put on the engine to compensate for the lack of PS pump, ans start it up to see where green first appears...

Is this a wise course of action? Any hints or common places that could be the cause?

Thank everyone very much and I hope I am not being as annoying as I think I am.

Casey

A couple of places:

#1 The little hose from the thermostat to the top of the block

#2 The little hose that goes from the base of the throttle body to the heater tube (carb ones have it, not sure if 89's do)

#3 the little eblow hose that attaches the water pump to the bypass pipe that connects to...

#4 the heater hoses.

Ive had ALL of them blow at some time or another on my massive collection of EA82's over the years.

All leave coolant on top of the engine... my bet is #1 2 or 3

Default thanks!

thanks a lot guys. hopefully you've heard the last of me for a while. It was in fact #1.

I had to remove the power steering pump to access/diagnose it, so it took me a little while, but no harm done, only a .50 length of hose.

It it just me, or do the stock type of hose clamps S U C K? They cut through the hoses with alarming frequency...

I have replaced almost every one of them in the year or two I have owned my 89 gl. Once replaced with a standard band clamp they offer no more difficulty.

thanks again!
