Default Official 5th Annual 48hrs of Tri-state Drive-a-Thon!

Ok folks. I'm sorry my job has had me tied up for the past year working 12-15hrs 5-6days a week. Anyway I've finally gotten some info together for the drive.

UPDATE: Web Page up! http://azpinstalls.com/48hrs06/

What it is?

An opportunity to bond with other tri-state Subaru owners for a 1,000 miles in 48hrs and 3 states! At the same time similar to a "Walk-a-Thon" you have the opportunity to raise money for a good cause by having people donate money per mile driven toward the charity.

When?

January 6th-8th, 2006

Where?

Meeting at Chilis in Clark, NJ Friday night.
Driving the first leg through South Jersey to Philadelphia for the first night.

Saturday Depart Philadelphia en-route to Niagara Falls for the 2nd leg

Sunday Depart Niagara Falls and head East toward Albany and then South to the closing dinner at the Palisades Mall in Nyack, NY.

Map here: http://mapshare.delorme.com/Consumer/V.aspx?p=gvsxpqld

Murray is collecting the list of Names, Phone Numbers etc.

latest news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

www.subaruwrxparts.com (exeter subaru) is going to do something(dont have final details yet) for the raffle style door prizes!!!!!!! a very big thank you goes out to them in advance

THANK YOU

2nd KC at www.rallydecals.com is working on getting us a revised design. it will be about the same only using a solid color subaru logo. the reason for the change is COST related. to do the design as it now stands would be aprox. $18-20 per piece. the revised version is looking to be in the ballpark of $6-8/each. he is going to email me an image of the revised version for me to see first! from a cost point of view, i do not think the changes will matter to anyone. Mr. Kevin Casey (KC) himself is DONATING his LABOR! way to go Kevin! so another big thank you is in order.

THANK YOU

ted

ps. could a mod please copy and paste this into the first post, as mikey works way to much to do it himself. thanks

www.pltek.net
has become another door prize sponsor! more info to come.

check payments can be sent to

SWEET! Thank you Mike for again organizing this drive, I know your work schedule makes getting this together rather difficult.

I'm not really good at math but the first one was in 2002, the second was in 2003, the third was in 2004, and the fourth was in 2005.

Wouldn't that make the 2006 version the Fifth Annual 48 Hours of Tri-State?

Glad to see it's back to the original format.

I'll second that for Mike.

I know there had been talk of signs for the cars this year. Is that still a go? Or did everyone just say fugedaboutit?

Also, to clarify with Hotels. Everyone has to book their own, correct? And we are staying in Philly and Niagara Falls? Are the falls US or Canadian side?

One last question. Are we going through the Pine Barrens Friday night, like we did the first year?

Looking forward to the drive this year!

Pine Barrens probably, nothinhg too heavy. Hotels are Friday Night in Philly, Sat night in Niagara Falls (either NY or Canada your choice). As for hotels every man is on his own, best bet is to get 4 people together for each room to save money.

Yea I would really like to, in the EVO community we are setting up a simalar event for the spring most likely to raise money for Diabetes. I will see what I can do as far as sponsoring goes for this one. I am sure we can do something. How many sponsors are there so far? I have a couple companies that I should be able to get to help out.

Did anyone post this on buffaloscooby.com I know there are several members there that would probably be down for something like this. There is a local vendor up in the Rochester area that you might be able to get to help sponsor as well.

It seemed everyone liked my 2nd magnet. Once one was "decided"-the one that got votes....from those who voted. I figured perhaps I could convert the magnet to 2-3 colors to make them less difficult to make.

Here is the link to the 3 magnets i've made.
http://www.myrandomtravels.com/magnets/
Again open for suggestions even if it is "they all suck".

Please do not post a picture of your vote on this thread. Just state "i liked magnet #." I don't want the thread filled with pictures of votes for magnets.
