Default HELP! My car is crapping out on me

I searched the forums, but found nothing really like this.
So I was parked at WalGreens earlier and chilling in the car when I noticed smoke coming from the tail pipe. It was quite a bit. I revved it a little bit and then after that, the smoke disappeared. It smelled a little like burnt rubber. I sometimes get it after sitting at a light for a while. I've recently changed the oil, so what's wrong? BTW, it's an 04 WRX with close to 48,000 miles. At that time of the night, the smoke looked white, but during the day, the smoke is blue. Sometimes light blue/white-ish. I thought that it might be a coolant leak, but it never smells sweet (at least not to me anyway). Also, would the engine eventually give out if there was a TINY coolant leak?

coolant leak would be white smoke, i think blue is a blown gasket of some sort maybe?

Yea, bluish smoke can indicate oil is burning in the cylinders. Burning coolant and burning oil smell different. To me, frying coolant always smelled sort of acrid. Oil smells like, um, burning oil. I'm not sure how to describe the oil burning smell... maybe like fresh asphalt? I don't know, but it is definitely different than a burning coolant smell. To me, burning oil is not an unpleasant smell, but it means bad things.

I'd say turbo seals leaking oil. Classic symptoms with pluming smoke after extended idle (like at a long stoplight) but goes away after driving off or a bit of revving. Replace turbo, problem solved. It's relatively inexpensive (possibly covered by dealer?). It's happened to quite a number of people. Oil smoke is not always blue, but can sometimes be greyish to almost white, especially synthetic. The difference is in the smell. Coolant always smells like coolant, never like oil.
