Default Compressor turning off while driving

It's been really muggy the past few days so I have the a/c on all the time. The compressor has turned off a few times now while driving, filling the cabin with humid air. The A/C light stays on. I have to turn the fan off completely for a few minutes before turning it back on to get the compressor going again. A quick on/off, even 10 seconds won't restart it.

Something is wrong, bring it to the dealer. Low pressure or something like that is most likely.

overpressure ... maybe your evap is frozen or freezing. when it thaws the compressor kicks in again, had the same issue with my car before, they had to clean the a/c system and place new filter in - it was kinda dirty when we opened it

Which filter? In-cabin or something else? Got an appointment for Saturday, but hoping they will be able to replicate/diagnose. I'm also wondering if it's something related to the ECU. Of all the times I experienced, it was while accelerating. My old G35 would shut the compressor off during WOT for max performance. But in the Subaru, we're talking mild acceleration when I experienced this. No issues even under hard acceleration since I bought in 2014.

Subarus do the same thing, my foot has to be to the floor or at least 90% of the way there for it to turn off.

This is probably not your issue but worth mentioning.

I know my blower can act funny if I accidentally leave the dial in between two numbers.

.... was for a different car, but yes was in-cabin guess part of the cleaning, the filter needs to be done

Faulty compressor. TSB 10-84-16.

Thankfully I had the extended warranty, but still had to pay $100 deductible. Wish it happened just a few months prior so it could be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty.
