FS: 2004 STI 7k miles over $14k in parts alone
2004 Subaru WRX STI
7186 Miles VIN: JF1 GD7062 4L513731 Since the day I picked up this car it has been nothing but a project car. I have tried three diff. turbo setups, three diff. EM systems, and three diff intercooler designs(Including the stock one). It took a while before I finally got the perfect setup for my use. I ended up needing a truck for work so I purchased a 2005 SRT-10 truck to satisfy my daily driving/work needs. I initially wanted to keep the STI, but with the payments on both I am not ending up with much money at the end of the month. I would like to buy a house early next year, so keeping the car is not an option. I have the price breakdown, email me if you want it Now as far as labor goes I don’t know how to add it up. The manifold was reversed, and all the piping for the intercooler was tig welded and polished.. With the hours included labor would be well over $3k. This car is extremely fast even with a base tune(have not had it dyno tuned). I have driven it to Dallas a few times and have had absolutely no problems. I have seen Sti’s with the same turbo kit (with piggyback ECU’s, and regular front mount intercoolers) pump out over 400whp on pump, and over 500 on race gas. The intercooler is large, but I did some calculations to match it as well as I could with the gt30 .82. I reversed the manifold for better turbo response (eliminates a whole lot of piping). Before I went with the gt30r, I tried a GT35r (with a APS FMIC, and U-tec), and the lag/response wasn’t what I wanted in a daily driver. Honestly, the GT30r feels just as fast in the higher RPM’s, with a much quicker spool up at the same psi. I switched from the U-tec to the Hydra mainly b/c I wanted to eliminate the MAF and run a true 4” inlet. After toying around with the Hydra, I realized how much easier it is to use than the U-tec. I also realized how much more flexible it is. I purchased the WBO2 sensor so that I could use the auto-tune feature, but never got around to messing with it. The user interface on the hydra is 100x better than the U-tec. The only drawback to the hydra is that you can no longer use the cruise control. I was told they were working on something to fix that, but I have been trying to stay away from spending more money on this vehicle so I stay away from the forums. Mechanically the vehicle is in excellent condition. I have changed the oil 3x and always used mobil 1 synthetic. The interior is in excellent shape as well. I removed the ashtray/cigarette lighter b/c I had a TXS tuner mounted in that location when I had the TXS U-tec. I run the cable for the Hydra out of that location now, but I may make some sort of alloy plate to cover up the rest of the hole. The S202 Seats are very rare, and VERY supportive. The stock STI seats are horrible, and some fix was needed. The door panels were covered in suede to match the Seats. The exterior of the car is in good shape. There are a few small dings(mainly from the countless hours of modifications). There are two small dings on the hood, which were made b/c a friend of mine didn’t realize it is an alloy hood and pushing own on it was not a good idea. There is also a small ding on the right fender. The car needs a new registration sticker, and inspection sticker. I will take care of the inspection sticker before I sell the car, but the buyer is responsible for renewing the registration sticker.

Holy f-ing intercooler Batman. How badly would one kill airflow by putting the stock grill back in?
Sweet car - bump. |

stock grill will not fit. I'm sure if you did some cutting, and fabing up a way to mount it you could get it to work... But currently there are no mounting tabs. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt airflow much, but I personally like the way it looks

Radiator sits lower than stock, and the log from the hydra shows that water temps stay almost identical to the APS Fmic that I had. I have yet to track the car, but in stop/go driving and on the highway everything temp. is fine. I have put a few plastic pieces to help chanel air, but don't think they were necesary. With the triming of the bumper/bumper beam/grill I would almost say that more air is allowed over the surface of the radiator.
