Default RA Conversion for $5000!!!!

Thats right I hate to see her go, but I dont have time to start fixing her since I am in college. This has been my pride and joy the past two years, but I need a reliable car such as a WRX that I can for sure count on.I have spent close to $11,000 on this project and its nowhere near done. I made a new thread since the other one was getting to big, I also lowered price, and the steering rack bushings are also fixed.

Mods and Specs

Engine
1995 WRX Type RA Motor 280HP (EJ20G)
RA Tranny and rear LSD 4.11
Catless Up-pipe
Invidia Downpipe, heatwrapped (catless, & not the divorced one)
custom 3in all the way back, catless
K&N Drop In Filter
TD05H-16G
Portmatched intake manifold to heads

Body
Version 2 WRX Hood
Version 4 STI front bumper with fog covers, and amber turn signals
Real JDM Clear corners
1993 Impreza L Body
151,XXX on body, 55,000 on swap(motor,tranny,diff,ecu,etc.)
JDM Tach (7K Redline) White Painted Needle
Power Locks and Windows
JVC Deck with 22B on cover of it
Autometer Boost, Oil pressure gauge, Oil Temp Gauge

Suspension
KYB AGX's
H&R Springs (1.8 front, 1.5 rear)
Whiteline 22-24 Adjustable Rear Sway Bar
Whiteline Rear Heavy Duty Swaybar Endlinks (gold ones)
Cusco Rear Strut Tower Bar
Perrin PSRS
Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings
Falken Ziex 512 tires (brand new)
WRX Wheels

Misc Bushings
Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings
Kartboy Shifter Bushings
Kartboy Exhaust Hangers

Brakes
Slotted Rotora Front WRX Brakes
AXXIS Ultimate Pads (front) lots of meat left
Turbo Legacy Rear Disc Brake Conversion
Worx Tuning Stainless Steel Brakelines

Ahh this list bugs me.....

Problems

Driver side rocker panel has dent(sideskirt can cover up)
Needs real JDM 4.11 rear axles (I am using RS ones for now)
Oil Pressure Gauge leaks from Block, easy fix
Hood and front bumper is primered white (Aqua Frost Car)
Needs new Idle Air Controler. There is a bolt snapped in it, so only three visible bolts are shown. This causes car to hesitate on open throttle when you do a 1-3 gear pull. You can drill out snapped bolt and put new bolt in instead of getting a new IAC
Clutch is beginning to slip
Front left axle's roll pin was broken when i put it in hole, you need to get a new roll pin for it
Oil Pressue Gauge leaks a little in car, not bad at all
Needs front left lower ball joint, and inner tie rod
Alignment

Thats about the entire list I can think of.I don't have time to fix this. All of these problems can be fixed with a mechanically sound person. Nothing is too hard to fix at all. I am giving up on this project and starting over with a car that I should have in the first place, a Bugeye!

Thanks,
Zach

" when yours is in needless to say, horrible shape...no offense but the car looks half assed and half spent...meaning, you had goals but didnt have enough money to follow through with them so you went the cheap route...why dont you try fixing body damage and priming the whole car...and then ask for 5g's, i bet you'd get more inquiries on a car thats got a prepped body instead of a car that needs everything fixed...just my 2 cents, gl

although I am not trying to hate or anything like that but I agree with the last poster. but I would be a LOT more interested in the car if it even had a cheap macco paint job.

Asthetics really mean nothing to me, as long as I have the stuff that I really wanted. I am in college, and thats where my money has gone. If I planed to be a lazy a$$ and not go to college and sit on my lazy a$$ all day with a bad full time job, then I would have kept the car and finished it, but I have other priorities, so yes your right, I didnt have any money. I am not spending anymore money on this car anymore, so I am selling as is. Cheap route? I have spent thousands of dollars on this car performance and suspension wise and I did this when I was 17 and 18. How many 17-18 year olds can say they did that without mommy and daddy giving them money? I dont have a fulltime job and I barely work since I am in college now. This car has cost me a fortune, and I spent money on the other performance/suspension things than making the car actually look good. There is no way I am dumping another $1K into this car just to make it look good for somebody else, when I am selling it anyway. I will however lower the price of the car, making this an awesome steal. Try to find an impreza, buy a frontclip, pay for swap if needed, buy all those suspension parts and try to be around $5K. Thats not going to happen. I will let it go for cheaper than $5k now, since I need to sell by January 31st.

Awesome deal. Someone needs to pick this up and spend a couple weekends to take care of the issues. It really looks to be worth it. The issues all sound mechanical, which are the easiest type to fix. I could understand if there were a lot of electrical gremlins, but that doesn't sound like the case. If you were closer I would seriously consider it. I know everyone says that, but I honestly would.

Unfortunately, I told myself I wasn't going to drive more than 50 miles to get a car again after a few bad experiences.

Personally I'd rather have the car all multicolored as it sits than have it all primered trying to hide bondo and whatever else. Don't listen to these other guys.

Good luck, it shouldn't take long at that price.

i will have to agree with jdm_scobaru.
the project im doing right now is VERY similar to what he is doing and it cost a good amount. not only the parts, but the time involved as well.
yeah, the body might be in bad shape, but who cars. when you are walking away from a M3, it makes it that much better. plus whats the point in primering the car if he wants to get rid of it.
this car looks to be decent, except for a couple of small bugs it looks to be a clean swap.
good job on the car, and good luck with selling it.
FYI, ive seen a MY93 w/ a ej20G, tranny, rear diff, KYB w/ springs, brakes, and a V4 interior sell for 7K...and the chassie was in a much worst shape, just as a refrence.

also body wise it looks like it needs a pass. door, rear bumper and trunk lid. and all of those can be purchsed for under 500. so in my books this car is a good deal. its just not for someone who has no clue how cars work(like many people on this site, who pay to have work done and then rag on people who do there own work that doesnt look as good as there STi does out of a shop).

Great looking car. A free bump. If I was brave enough I would snap it up and get it painted a dark grey and have totally unique car. Beauty is more than skin deep.

Good news. I just got a new door, rear bumper, and the car painted black this week, and i have new suspension pieces I just bought and I am going to put those on in a week, and get a new alighnment, and get the IAC fixed, so the car is 100%. I will post in about a week for you guys.

I am going to jack the price up too $6500 since I have spent about $2000 dollars on the car this week between paint, body work, suspension pieces, alignment, and fluids. I will make brand new thread with finished car which will be 100% working order, so subscribe and stay tuned.
