Default seafoam= smoke in engine bay? normal?

i just used 1/3 of a bottle of seafoam on my car. i poured a tiny bit into the turbo inlet hose and then poured a bunch in the vacuum tube that i took off of the BOV.

i poured very slowly, slowing down when the engine shook too much. anyway, near the end of this endeavor, white smoke started coming out of the exhaust, which i expected, but smoke also came out of the engine bay- a little from the turbo area, and then some from the front right of the engine bay- as you look from the front.

is this normal? should i get the car checked out?

It's like that auto rx stuff, but much cheaper and easier to come by. Basically you can add it to a tank of gas and it will clean out the fuel system. I also add it to the crank case right before I change my oil. Supposed to clean out carbon deposits and sticky lifters. Works very well.

I haven't tried pouring it through the vacuum hoses yet. It definately smokes like all hell for a while. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. Drive it around the neighborhood and scare some people.

Normal. When we have Subaru Meets, usually some jackass (like me) will break out a bottle of Sea Foam and some Solo cups. 1/3 of a can in a Solo cup sucked into a vacuum line of 3 cars creates a TERRIBLE amount of white smoke. Honestly, I don't know if it does jack or not, but it is very, very, very funny when three cars take off that have just been "seafoamed". It creates so much smoke you have to take off in three different directions as you can't see your hand in front of your face with all the smoke.

haha, sounds like the ATF trick for unsticking a carbon locked or flooded rotary. I unfortunately did that trick the night before September 11th.
I dont know for sure but im pretty positive my neighborhood was ****ting itself when I started it in the AM.
