Default Have had MRT Header-back for three months or more and still have CE.

When the light first came on it was about 300 miles after I put them on. I went on a road trip with it on for a while and when I got back I reset the computer again. After this reset the CE came back on about 500+ miles after. I drove with it on for months and reset it a couple of weeks ago and it came on 40 miles after. I had heard that by putting a stock muffler on that it would turn off so I put the Brospeed/Subaru muffler back on and reset the ECU. I thought I had it fixed but today after 280 miles it glows strong. I am going to try to wrap the Cat because of the code I heard that it was throwing. Otherwise I am stumped and am going to be calling Irvine Subaru again looking for answers. The sound of these headers are awesome. I never really like the WOT sound of the MRT exhaust (raspy) and since the switch to the Brospeed, I love the sound. I do not notice a difference in performance and the little growl you hear from the Brospeed sounds killer now and throaty. I assume that nothing major is wrong with this CE light but I am sick of it. Another thing is that most have had the CE light flicker on and off at times. Mine is nice and bold without any flickering until I reset the computer.
If anyone has any solutions that have worked without a CE for a 500+ miles I would definitely appreciate it. Any comments?

as noted in the following threads:

(a few of which you started) there hasn't been any headway in stopping the CE light from comming on. Your idea of wrapping the cat will prolly be my next move. I plan on taking one of the exhaust shields off the stock cats and seeing if I can make it fit.

My light has never flickered. It's been glowing since 14 miles into the MRT exhaust, so good luck! I don't think Irvine Subaru will have anything to tell you, and MRT will just say that their cars don't have a second O2 sensor, so?

My header is ceramic-coated already. I have in the last week wrapped that header with a ceramic (heat insulating) cloth. I've not yet run the car, but this should fix MY particular problem (as far as the CE light code is concerned.)

Scootr, you SHOULD get your code pulled, even if you know what it is. Just to make sure. Besides, you're one of the lucky ones!
