Default guidelines for o2 placement w/o a cat

does anyone know what guidelines you go by when putting an o2 sensor in a car without a cat? a guy was asking me about it the other day at work and the

more i thought about it the more confused i got. i would think that because of the fuel re-burning in the exhuast that there would be different oxygen levels at

different parts of the exhaust. the logical thing to do would be to put the bung

at the place where the cat wouldve been, but since the cat does a fair amount of reburning the oxygen level would be different. do you guys know anything about this? thanks

josh

www.boxer4racing.com has a catless pipe. You could look at pics on the site for more accurate sensor placement.
