Yeah sounds like crap. Go with a high flow cat from stromung or Random Tech.

I don't think there's a 3rd cat....just a resonator on the end of the 2nd cat. It should have already been removed when you installed your cat-back. Yeah, just get a high flow cat from stromung or random tech.

Try stromung's site. They gave me a deal awhile back. Just call them.

Just get a straight pipe instead of a hiflow cat. It's a lot cheaper, and it's not going to wear out like a cat is. Just run a straight pipe, and keep your stock cat for when you have to get the car smoged. Thats what I do.

I'd go with a RT cat over stromung. RT uses a metallic based catalyst which will last much longer than the ceramic element in stromung.

Be sure, if you're going to go catless, that your state doesn't have laws against this.

Norcal has quite a few laws against this...

I wouldnt recomend it because unless you are racing the car on a track and not driving it on the street, expect a ticket after awhile and even more trouble when you have to smog it... There was a big state budget allocated for this purpose recently and its being emphasized with local PD.

Not only will it get you the attention of CA's db sensitive police officers, if they feel like it they can cite you for a federal violation that includes up to $10,000 in fines for altering an emissions control device. Everytime this topic comes up, guys pipe in and talk about how they can get away with it locally, have no emissions, etc. etc. All it takes is one angry or bothered highway patrol officer who choose to hit you with the federal law and you are selling your $15,000 car to pay your $10,000 fine. It doesn't happen often, but do you really want to be that one guy that got popped? Especially since we are talking about like 2-3hp...
